Karan was born and bought up in Malabar hill. He always lived in Bombay. He lived in an uptown,elite neighborhood in south Bombay. As a kid he was shy , and always to himself . He was quite and obedient . So quite, that his mother was worried as to what will he do when he grows up. He was different to other boys in school. His mom is a Sindhi and dad a Punjabi .
Their s was a very cosmopolitan house. Karan was obsessed with food. He was a fat kid . He was sent to a boarding school from where he ran away cause he felt homesick. Later he had joined a club in his school called the interact club. It was about drama, elocution and debate . Its where he performed magically . He was called by the princiapal for inter-school contest. That s how he realised his talent .
The book gives most honest sneak-peak into Karan’s life. It shows different phases of his life. It also shows the times of dialwey dulahaniya shoot . Its when Karan first met Aditya chopra aka Aadi .When aadi loved him and supported him . His words of encouragement were “Why the hell are you realizing that you were born to be in the movies ? You’re over-dramatic , you’re melodramatic, you’re funny . The only thing you don’t have is an interval because you have this non-stop mad energy . You’re meant for the movies. ”
So Adi and Karan became best friends. They worked on dilwaley together . And that s how karan s journey started from dilwaey to

I just loved Karan s most profound , honest and real description of his life. Honestly I am not into Bollywood. But I m a fan of the show coffee with karan ! hahha! An Unsuitable Boy is an easy coffee-table read! Enjoy.
